Generic Scope

Department Custom Scope
Under the close supervision of the Director of Faculty Development and the Chief Financial and Administrative Office in the School of Medicine (SOM), this position will perform administrative and analytical duties in support of SOM operations. The duration of the position is 12 months. Fellows participate in projects and activities that build and strengthen essential administrative skills. Fellows for academic year 2023/2024 will rotate six months in a clinical department and six months in an administrative department. Fellows will complete projects during their rotation and will attend monthly didactic sessions.

Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. Required
Business coursework in Accounting/Finance, Operations and Business Administration. Preferred
Master of Health Administration, Master of Business Administration with a Health concentration or Master of Public Health. Preferred

Key Responsibilities

Description % Time
Supports program or project staff to gather information and support program objectives.
  • Provides project management support that will emphasize project deliverables, acquired competencies and technical skills ensuring the fellow has the ability to translate academic theory into practice. Fellow will meet with staff, managers and members of leadership to review progress on projects, provide feedback and help navigate within the organization. Projects assigned will be in Clinical, Research and Education, Finance, Administration and Medical Education.
