Department Custom Scope
Assigned 50% to Osher Lifelong Learning and 50% to Degree Completion Programs, the grant-funded Osher and Degree Completion Programs Coordinator provides forward facing customer service, efficient program planning and coordination, and logistical event support for UCR University Extension and Palm Desert Center programs that serve a wide-range of learners at the Riverside campus. The position works closely with the Director of Osher and the Director of Academic Quality, Integrity and Assessment to help execute goals, plan and deliver programming, promote programs and events, and liaise with campus, local and external partners for new and established programs offered on varied and overlapping timelines.

Key Responsibilities

Description % Time
Under general supervision, organizes and conducts existing public educational courses and assists in the development of new programs and course materials.
  • Coordinates program logistics to ensure an optimum learner experience. Provides on-site assistance for Osher courses and events in Riverside. Coordinates approval requests for new XR courses as well as programming of XR courses for degree completion students. Assists with the concurrent enrollment process for degree completion students.

Assists in developing strategic market plans and targets audience.
  • Provides updated program information for Osher and Degree Completion web page updates, electronic calendar entries, and social media entries. Conducts direct inquiry calls and intake interviews. Utilizes Salesforce to track all student inquiries and applications. Represents University at recruitment and/or tabling events. Coordinates information webinars through scheduling, outreach, moderating, and participant tracking.

Assists in planning and scheduling course offerings and identifying course topics.
  • Coordinates the scheduling of courses and recommends instructors for courses. Communicates with instructors on matters related to appointment and scheduling.

Utilizes evaluation tools for courses, instructors and programs to evaluate and adjust course curriculum or presentation.
  • In consultation with directors, responds to evaluation results and implements course and program changes as required.

Assists in developing, preparing and reconciling budgets for program.
  • Supports student support fund distribution and tracking of distribution of funds for reporting. Completes budget documents for approval in advance of offerings. Reviews revenue and expenses upon completion of programs and provides recommendations for future offerings. Participates in preparing the annual budget forecast and quarterly forecast updates.

Assists in conducting analysis, prioritizing work assignments and developing program recommendations.
  • Conducts data audits to identify target population and tracks student reentry outcomes for the degree completion program. Conducts data audits to track and monitor program goals for Osher including member participation, new memberships, retention and philanthropy.

Assists with advising functions for students participating in degree completion programs. Assists with onboarding and student orientation. Assists and advises Osher members with program membership and course enrollment options.
