Degree Requirement
Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. Required
Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Sociology, or Public Policy. Preferred
Master of Public Health or Master of Philosophy in Public Health, Master of Science in Public Health, Master of Medical Science in Public Health. Preferred

Key Responsibilities

Description % Time
Applies professional concepts to help identify areas of need for health promotion and education programs.
  • Plan and conduct health education and promotion activities: presentations, seminars, townhalls, workshops, interviews, orientations, and focus groups for adults and/or children.
Under general supervision, presents health promotion and education programs; designs and delivers workshops on routine information.
  • Construct and presents lectures, training, or curriculum to groups as appropriate.
Assists with developing new courses and content information.
  • Assist with developing new curriculum and program specific content information.
Presents health promotion and education programs, and designs and delivers workshops on moderately complex information.
  • Develop and distribute any health education equipment or materials that are culturally appropriate to conduct health education and promotion activities for adults and/or children.
Gathers and analyzes data to make recommendations regarding effectiveness of programs.
  • Monitor progress, resources and overall sustainability of health education and promotion activities.
May write grant proposals and seek funding for programs.
Develops, secures, and maintains any equipment or instructional materials needed to conduct classes.
Under general supervision, conducts needs analysis for health promotion and education.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
