Department Custom Scope
The Program Coordinator for the UCR SOM's Office of Faculty Development works closely with the Director of the Office of Faculty Development in the planning, development, and evaluation of faculty development programs. The Program Coordinator will oversee the coordination of program management, maintain a program schedule, coordinate all aspects of the programs, work with site directors, block directors and site coordinators to support consistent teaching and assessment across clinical sites. The Program Coordinator develops and maintains a digital library of faculty development resources including, video tutorials, guides, and podcasts, and other faculty resources and manages faculty outreach and internal and external communications. The Program Coordinator ensures compliance with institutional policies, procedures, and regulations. The Program Coordinator manages the administration of Continuing Medical Education (CME) activities and develops resources to ensure the ongoing availability of CME for the School of Medicine. The Program Coordinator assists with the collection and analysis of program evaluation data. The Program Coordinator plays a critical role in the administration of the planned Master of Medical Education program.

Key Responsibilities

Manages and maintains The Office of Faculty Development program schedule. Works with affiliated sites, and other departments to ensure all programs are promoted and well attended. Supports workshops and other learning sessions on an as need basis. Develops and maintains libraries for faculty development resources (ex: video library, website resources, evaluation library, mailing lists, and online faculty development courses and modules). Creates marketing material for upcoming workshops, newsletters, and events. Manages attendance and creates certificates for completion of OFD series, and CME provided sessions. Identifies resources for faculty professional development (e.g., conferences, grants to support innovative teaching projects, fellowships, leadership training). Supports the culture of teaching excellence, inclusion, innovation, integrity, accountability, and respect as core values of the Office of Faculty Development and the UCR SOM.

Gathers and analyzes resource data, prepares regular reports on faculty development operations, evaluates current faculty development programs, conducts feasibility analysis of future programs and proposed services. Documents and creates regular reports on faculty development programs and activities. Creates and maintains all CME resources including annual report and working with CME provider and external departments to ensure CME approval for the School of Medicine.

Functions as a resource to the Office of Faculty Development team regarding researching complex issues and processes, ensuring faculty development services are available as needed, vendor communications, and strategic planning. Uses a shared department inbox and ticketing system, communicates and triages requests, concerns, and issues.

Conducts ongoing faculty development needs assessment collecting and analyzing data from key stakeholders including faculty, administrators, students, and staff.

Participates in regular and ongoing process improvement and helps develop, maintain, and revise standard operating procedures, department policies, and guidelines.

Assists in developing and maintaining program budgets. Other duties as related to the Office of Faculty Development as assigned.
