Department Custom Scope
Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Communications, the Marketing Coordinator assists with all marketing and communications activities and events of the UCR School of Education (SOE), in support of its academic programs and its affiliated area groups. This role will assist with marketing research, drafting of marketing and communication plans, measurement and analysis, copywriting, graphic design, email marketing, web content management, social media management, digital advertising, photography, videography, and event planning, promotion, and execution. Requires working occasional weekends and evenings for signature events. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a high level of racial literacy given that UCR is an HSI and AANAPISI institution, situated in the Inland Empire. They will be able to align Marketing priorities with the SOE mission: The University of California, Riverside's School of Education, or SOE, is a nationally recognized school in a public research university that leverages its broad range of expertise to develop impactful partnerships, collaborations, and evidence-based resources fundamental for teaching, learning, and student success. Key Responsibilities

Description % Time
Under general supervision, plans, develops and implements basic marketing and/or sales plans, strategies and/or events for small or non-complex projects.
  • Under the direction of the Director of Marketing and Communications, manages digital marketing efforts for the SOE?s websites, social media, email marketing, and digital advertising, ensuring a positive online reputation through constant content creation and curation and daily customer responses, with an eye towards inclusive marketing practices that align with SOE's values and community. Provides support as needed for other marketing activities such as graphic design, photography, videography, and purchasing. Serves on the UCR social media committee, UCR web advisory committee to represent SOE, and continually keep up with marketing trends and DEI trainings.

Leads various in-person and virtual school-wide and signature events, such as Commencement, Homecoming, and Alumni Awards, with an eye towards providing an exceptional brand experience for attendees and raising the School's brand profile. Leads event planning, promotion, and execution. Assists with other events as needed.

Conducts basic market research and/or sales and generates and uses marketing and/or sales reports.

Supports brand management efforts including review of art and copy for brand identity standards adherence and consistency, brand equipment maintenance, and insignia items inventory management.
