Department Custom Scope
| The Family Medicine department is seeking physicians in inpatient, outpatient, and mixed settings clinical practices in Riverside and Jurupa Valley at UCR Health clinics and affiliate sites. Physicians supervise and/or perform a full range of professional work in primary care medicine involving the examination, diagnosis, and treatment of adult patients. They work collaboratively with other physician groups for patient care. |

| Direct Patient Care: Engage in a full range of direct patient care activities and medical/clinical practice as the principal component of their overall professional responsibility within the clinical setting. Associate Physicians provide patient care activities that include but are not limited to: Hospital inpatient setting: 1. Assessment, evaluation, diagnostic determination, on-going treatment and clinical management, necessary referral for consultation, care planning and modification, medications/therapeutic orders, transfer authorization, risk assessment, and, when appropriate, determination of readiness and planning for discharge. 2. Extensive and on-going communications with community primary care physicians or hospitalists who routinely manage the care of patients in the inpatient or outpatient settings. 3. Day-to-day patient contact/rounding/care management that actively encourages and includes professional input from all members of the patient care team. Clinical Outpatient Setting: 1. Assessment, evaluation, diagnostic determination, on-going treatment and clinical management, necessary referral for consultation, care planning and modification, medications/therapeutic orders, transfer authorization, risk assessment, and, when appropriate, determination of readiness and planning for discharge from the clinic. 2. Extensive and on-going communications with community primary care physicians or hospitalists who routinely manage the care of patients in the inpatient or outpatient settings. 3. | Billing for Services: Accurately documents needed information to bill for services by recording diagnosis codes and completing corresponding documentation.
