Department Custom Scope
Under the general supervision of the Assistant Vice Chancellor (AVC) for Governmental & Community Relations, the Executive Assistant provides high-level executive support to the AVC and the Governmental & Community Relations (GCR) office-at-large; reception, scheduling, and administrative support for the Office of the Chancellor; and employs effective techniques to facilitate success and efficiency within the organization. The Executive Assistant serves as the focal point for incoming communications, screens and directs calls as appropriate, and responds to various inquiries and questions orally and in writing. The Executive Assistant works under the pressure of constantly changing priorities, unanticipated urgent demands, and multiple tasks. The Executive Assistant maintains the AVC?s calendar, arranges meetings and makes travel arrangements; assists on special projects as assigned, including event coordination and presentation development; proofreads/edits documents and communications. This position is physically located in the Chancellor's office suite, with a dotted reporting line to the Executive Assistant to the Chancellor. Relevant duties in the Chancellor's office include staffing the reception desk, organizing and scheduling Chancellor event requests, providing back-up calendaring and travel support for the Executive Assistant to the Chancellor, and other administrative coordination as needed. |
