Department Custom Scope
The position provides support for the coordination and assistance for the Young Oak Kim (YOK) Center?s Mellon Humanities in Place grant covering the preservation and sharing the history of Pachappa Camp,the first-organized Korean American settlement in the United States. The Project Coordinator will be hired for a three-year term under the provisions of the Mellon Grant at a part-time appointment of 40.5%appointment (part-time). This position has a tentative end date at 3 years. However, it may be extended depending on the receipt of additional funding and workload needs. The budgeted salary for this position is $2,781.00 monthly. Factors used to determine salary offer include experience, education, and other business/organizational considerations. The Project Coordinator?s duties will include but are not limited to supporting the Pachappa Camp traveling art exhibit and the online digital exhibit. The Project Coordinator will work with the Registrar to prepare for the traveling exhibit by obtaining image licensing, purchasing books for onsite use, quotes on crating, shipping, etc. The Project Coordinator will also assist with light Public Relations and social media duties to help publicize the traveling art exhibit and the online website exhibit. The Project Coordinator will also work with the YOK Center PI, Graduate Student, and interns for the exhibit. The Project Coordinator will also help with administrative tasks related to the Mellon Grant requirements including but not limited to scheduling events, submitting for reimbursements/budgeting, obtaining quotes, and other paperwork as needed.

Key Responsibilities

Administrative operations include budgetary financial management and human resources and may include some of the following functions: IT, facilities, student services, and/or contracts and grants.

Orchestrate and cohost events including conferences, community talks, visiting speakers and artists, etc. Fully execute event operations from start to finish.

Assists in the design and drafting of organizational website content; drafts newsletters and correspondence to organizational constituents. The Coordinator is charged with establishing tools to facilitate the grant project and the Center?s activities, including: a robust website, email lists, event calendars, social media engagement, and event registration and management(both online and in-person.)

Manages, plans and administers a range of administrative operations in a small to medium academic department, or a small to medium non-academic department or program. Project management for all Center activities that are on grant funding.Responsible for working closely with the Director to preplan and carry out a wide range of community and social events. Basic knowledge of museum and art installations for the Center.

Coordinates and participates in a variety of human resources activities including employment, training, classification and ensuring the completion of forms and documents related to HR and Payroll for unit/department. Gathers, analyzes,prepares and summarizes financial and HR reports.

Performs studies for resource plans, including approaches, trends, sources and uses. Developing and implementing short- and long-term plans for the Center, including building programs and financial plans; building research, collaboration and outreach programs associated with the College; planning, promoting and marketing research activities and events for the Center and community-affiliated groups or institutions

Serves on committees, representing department/unit.
