Department Custom Scope
The purpose of the research coordinator position is to help the UCR Perception, Action, and Development Lab (PADLAB) carry out projects for Dr. Franchak?s NSF-funded grant to investigate infants? everyday experiences. The projects involve collecting data from families with young infants in the Riverside County area through surveys and home visits. The research coordinator would schedule study appointments, collect data from human subjects through surveys and home visits, organize data and other files relating to the research project, and contribute to data analysis. The appointment is part-time at 75% for approximately 1 year. The appointment may be extended based on available funding. |

The research coordinator will be primarily responsible for recruiting and scheduling participants for the research projects and making visits to participants' homes to collect the data. The research coordinator will be responsible for coding and organizing resulting data from the projects. The research coordinator will be responsible for maintaining physical and digital records relating to the projects. This will involve transferring files to data storage servers, maintenance of IRB protocol files, and analyzing and improving on study protocols. | 20 |
The team working on the projects will include the faculty lead (Dr. John Franchak), PADLAB graduate students, undergraduate research assistants, and the laboratory assistant. The research coordinator will be responsible for maintaining the schedules of team members to plan meetings and will help organize undergraduate research assistants who are working on the project to determine when they will recruit, schedule, and run participants. The research coordinator will orient new lab members to basic procedures (checking email, making recruitment phone calls, coding data). | 20 |
