Department Custom Scope
The Program Manager (PM) for the UCR Center for Health Disparities Research- Community Engagement and Dissemination Core (CEDC) will work closely with the Director of the center and the lead of the core in the planning, development, and evaluation of CEDC activities to accomplish deliverables outlined by the center grant. The Program Manager will oversee the logistics of program management, maintain a program schedule, coordinate all aspects of the activities, and work with principal investigators, research assistants, and community partners to ensure deliverables are achieved. The PM will work closely with the CEDC lead on programmatic efforts to create community connections in underserved populations to provide equitable access to research opportunities in health disparities research projects. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining relationships with community representatives, long and short-range planning of events, assessing the needs and desires of the community, and identifying outreach opportunities. The PM has expertise in health disparities and underserved populations, collaborates with community leaders in federally qualifying clinics, and works with Community Advisory Boards (CABs) to incorporate community members into resource allocation decisions and research design. In addition, the PM will work closely with other staff members in establishing and overseeing sub-contract agreements; ensuring effective engagement with program sub-contracts, partners, and other key stakeholders; and supporting project team meeting facilitation and coordination.

Monitors and analyzes study progress and budgets.
  • Assists in developing, implementing, and overseeing research proposals, awards, and transactions related to the community engagement and dissemination component. Maintains contract and grant records in compliance with institutional and research sponsor policies.

Implements procedures to increase response rates.
  • Knowledge of and experience with community engagement and social programming. Developing and maintaining relationships with community representatives, long and short-range planning of events, assessing the needs and desires of the community, and identifying outreach opportunities is essential to garnering community support and increased participation.

Gathers, analyzes, prepares and summarizes recommendations for survey research resource plans, including approaches, trends, sources and uses.

  • This position is also responsible to maintain record keeping for this research assignments. This position will work independently with clients and will manage the data collection activities of the selected focus groups.

  • This position could potentially oversee a team of junior staff and limited contract employees and will be responsible for providing guidance and review of their work.
