Department Custom Scope
Under the supervision of the Senior Research Administrator, the Technology Partnerships Financial Services Analyst will perform analysis, reporting, and auditing for the Office of Technology Partnerships. The Financial Services Analyst provides data and reports to assist in departmental budget management and research grant administration. This position will assist with a variety of financial services, including invoice processing, reimbursements, payroll cost transfers and funding changes. Incumbent will prepare and gather documents to develop grant proposal budgets and will assist the Research Administrator with post-award close-outs. The Financial Services Analyst will also support related administrative functions for the Office of Technology Partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

Description % Time
Assists with ensuring that financial processing functions which may include accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchasing, recharge billing, travel/entertainment, gift accounting, cashiering and collections are performed with accuracy and that daily operations run smoothly.
  • Transacts cost transfers and funding changes. Reconciles to ensure requests were processed correctly. Supports the Office of Technology Partnerships with travel and purchasing needs. Processes PCTs and use tax as well as work orders for facilities, ITS, etc. Participates in monthly reconciliation activities. Processes Incubator tenant billing, including initial set-up, web recharges for equipment use, and other billing as needed for tenants.

Under general supervision, researches and gathers information from a variety of sources; prepares and summarizes information and reports relative to new services, regulatory compliance issues and/or vendor selection and support activities.
  • Assists with the reconciliation & financial reporting of awards. Exports costs from Oracle and updates shadow reports for supervisor to review and distribute.

Supports logistical needs for Office of Technology Partnerships events and meetings, including responding to requests for availability, booking rooms, and ordering supplies or food as needed.

Prepares reports and analyses to include summaries of financial transactions, evaluation of current and proposed services, etc. for management review and decision-making.
  • Assists with grant proposals by preparing and gathering documents to develop budgets for standard costs, including subawards. Assists with award close-out.

Applies professional financial and accounting concepts to independently perform analyses of moderately complex financial services such as researching discrepancies and tax implications and compliance with external regulations and internal policies.

Participates in audits of internal records and processes and prepares recommendations for changes as needed. Ensures that the appropriate internal controls are addressed, maintained and strengthened to protect University resources.
