Department Custom Scope
Under the supervision of the RED Administrative Officer, the Research Center Administrative Officer serves as an integral part of the daily administrative operations for Alianza UCMX. In this role the Research Center Administrative Officer functions as the main transactor for procurement, travel, and other financial or administrative needs. This position serves as an occasional back-up/relief person for administrative tasks and functions for other administrative units and departments under the Research and Development organization structure during absences, leaves, or as required.

Key Responsibilities

Description % Time
Serves as primary administrative support for RED Research Centers. Coordinates daily office operations, assuming full responsibility for processing transactions related to purchasing, travel, supplies, and the equipment needs of the department as well as implementation of administrative projects assigned by senior staff. Provides back up support to other RED units.

Gathers and analyzes financial and other resource data; prepares reports or analyses of operational activities, evaluates current and proposed services, etc. Documents processes and procedures for financial activities.

Functions as a resource on issues such as researching complex financial discrepancies, escalated customer service problems and vendor concerns.

Ensures that the appropriate internal controls are addressed, maintained and strengthened to protect University resources.

Assesses and recommends changes to maintain compliance with federal and state requirements and internal policies.
