Department Custom Scope
The Events Manager for the College of Natural and Agricultural Sciences (CNAS) reports to the Assistant Dean of CNAS Communications and Strategic Initiatives, and works with the CNAS Dean's Office Communications staff to plan and execute college- and campus-wide events in order to support the mission of the college. The responsibilities of this position includes assisting the CNAS Dean's Office Communications staff in building upon the college's existing internal and external events as well as assisting in identifying and planning new events that strategically engage with key constituents including but not limited to current and prospective students, donors, parents, industry partners, and alumni. In-person, virtual, or hybrid events include but are not limited to recruitment and engagement events, meetings, town halls, retreats, conferences, networking mixers, distinguished lectures, open houses, etc. The Events Manager will collaborate with various college and university team members and units as well as leading efforts with vendors such as photographers, party suppliers, caterers, and graphic designers. The Events Manager may serve as a liaison with key stakeholders, representing the college with external partners, and may include support developing event-related marketing materials such as PowerPoint presentations, invitations, fliers, etc. The Events Manager may communicate directly with both internal and external clients to identify their needs for an event and participate with management in any necessary negotiations for their contract. The manager will coordinate event calendars with the UCR Police Dept, Campus Fire Marshal, and Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) when needed. |
