Department Custom Scope
UCR ARTS is made up of the California Museum of Photography and the Culver Center of the Performing Arts which includes the Sweeney Art Gallery. The California Museum of Photography has more than 500,000 photographs and photographic artifacts and apparatus. This collection serves to promote understanding of photography and visual media by providing access and context to one of the largest and most comprehensive photographic resources in America. The Museum contains four inter-linked collections: Bingham Technology Collection, Keystone-Mast Collection, University Print Collection, and the Study Center Library Collection. Of these, the Bingham Technology Collection holds over 10,000 items, the second-largest camera collection in America, while the Keystone-Mast Collection is the world?s largest collection of over 400,000 original stereoscopic prints and original glass negatives. This position will report to the Deputy Director at UCR ARTS. The incumbent will help devise marketing strategy, write copy, publish content through various channels, monitor reach and engagement, and report on results. Will manage social media, e-newsletters, and assist with advertising activities for museum projects. Will create content and help maintain the UCR ARTS website. This includes editing and adding new pages, managing users, optimizing pages for SEO and reporting bugs and issues. Will work with the museum?s Exhibition & Design Assistant and collaborate with partners (both internal to museum and external) to promote programs and the design of digital and print promotional materials, as well as more innovative approaches. Manage SEO postings and accounts. Manage distribution lists. Create and update marketing toolkits and presentations. Participate in outreach activities to promote UCR ARTS. Perform other duties as assigned. This will be a 50% (20 hours per week) 2-year position with the potential for continued employment beyond the 2-year mark based on funding availability. The full salary range for the Marketing Specialist is $25.96 - $44.64. However, the expected pay scale for this position is $25.96 - $30.63 per hour. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.
