Position Purpose
Reporting to the Director of Student Success Programs, this 75% FTE position will be responsible for outreach, recruitment and selection of students for the UC Washington Academic Internship Program (UCDC), the UC Center Sacramento Scholar Intern Program (UCCS), and academically-enriched internships in Riverside and the Inland Empire. Position is also responsible for coordinating the iEval program. |

Manage the ongoing development, implementation and coordination of the UCDC and UCCS Programs, and academically-enriched internships in Riverside and the Inland Empire. Implement new procedures and guidelines for handling program processes within the unit as well as the proper procedure for handling exceptions. Assist the UCDC/UCCS local faculty director with administrative duties such as coordination of directorial meetings and faculty advisory board activities. Serve as staff support for faculty advisory board. Serve as recognized resource of program knowledge for the campus. Assist in planning programmatic long-range goals, which require thorough knowledge of the educational process and its relationship to student affairs and the career center. Communicate the activities, progress, and needs of the programs to the local faculty director, the faculty advisory board, the on-site staff of the UCDC and UCCS programs, and UE leadership. Serve as a liaison for the UCDC and UCCS in communication with other campus departments and faculty committees in the resolution of day-to-day administrative and operational issues. |

Advise students, faculty and public regarding departmental program requirements, policies, and procedures. Evaluate and advise students requesting exceptions to departmental program requirements. Respond to inquires and investigate and resolve programs related to transactions handled by the department. Screen applications by assessing the overall record, including GPA, recommendation letters, etc. Identify strong and weak applicants. Coordinate panel interviews to select groups of students to participate in the UCDC and UCCS programs, and academically-enriched internships in Riverside and the Inland Empire. Prepare general advertising, press releases, and announcements for programs and/or events. Develop recruitment materials including Web site, newsletters, announcements, event calendars, posters, etc. Respond to in-person inquiries, telephone calls, and written communication in compliance with University policies and regulations. Coordinate and present information workshops and orientation meetings to promote and represent departmental programs. Work with campus departments (Financial Aid, Campus Health Center, Career Services, and Counseling Center) to promote meaningful and individual contact with student participants. Design and develop outreach programs. Perform needs assessments. Evaluate the effectiveness of the programs and recommend changes to the local director, faculty advisory board, and UE leadership. |

Prepare, update and respond to email correspondences for faculty, departments and students regarding iEval. Coordinate with departments and faculty to insure courses are properly uploaded to iEval. Prepare and update general marketing materials, flyers, and website for iEval. Serve as contact for training departmental staff on use of iEVal system. Manage the ongoing development and improvement of iEval. |

Education and/or experience equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree in a related field. Demonstrated three years' experience developing, implementing and managing student affairs programs in higher education. Three years' experience advising undergraduate students and maintaining confidentiality at all times. Experience coordinating student outreach, recruitment, selection and pre-departure orientations for off-campus internships. Demonstrated ability to recruit, select, train, develop and evaluate student staff. Strong analytical skills to effectively evaluate the outcome of a problem and identify the key issues or redirect efforts. Skill in analyzing policy issues, policy and procedures, and other directives and forming solid recommendations. Skill in working independently and following through on assignments with minimal direction.
