Position Purpose
| Under supervision, the Assistant Farm Mechanic assists in the maintenance and repair of trucks (light to heavy duty), tractors, agricultural farm equipment and implements. Incumbents typically lubricate designated parts of farm machinery; operate field service trucks for lubrication, refueling, and minor field repairs; dismount, repair and replace tires; make sheet metal repairs; weld and braze; operate metal lathes, drill presses, grinders, and other shop tools; and perform other related duties as required. |

| Assists in adjusting and repairing a wide variety of farm equipment, including pickup trucks, light and heavy trucks, tractors (wheel and track type), trailers, spray equipment, harvesters, planters, cultivators, various farm implements, turf machines, small engines, air compressors, graders, and wind machines powered by propane and electricity, and other types of equipment.
