Position Purpose
The UC Riverside Office of Strategic Communications provides campus leadership in planning, coordinating and implementing communications programs that foster increased awareness, understanding and support of UC Riverside's mission, vision, accomplishments and needs among its many internal and external constituencies. Reporting to the Director of Creative Services, and working in close collaboration with current designers, web and video unit staff, the Graphic Design Support position is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day creative of all the group interactive and print projects including but not limited to: brochures, annual reports, advertisements, handouts, logos, posters, invitations, web design, interactive projects, and any other assigned media for internal and external audiences. This individual will leverage corporate brand standards, as well as knowledge of usability and online design best practices that will support marketing initiatives. Note: Finalists for this position will need to submit samples of their work/portfolios for review by the selection committee. |

Under general supervision, support Print, Web and E-Communications Design and Multimedia Design and Animation Support. Functional duties include: o Support Creative Director and Senior Graphic Designer in the creation and production of graphic design and creative services projects. o Maintain and execute changes to existing creative collateral. o Design and optimize assets for websites, e-mail, online ads. o Provide back-up support to lead designer or freelance resources as required. o Help steward, maintain and reinforce campus graphic design standards. o Proactive in maintaining and developing technical and design skills on an ongoing basis. o Provide support and assistance with project management, digital asset management, file prep, press checks and freelance assignments as needed. |
