Position Purpose

Reporting to the Executive Director of Marketing & Creative Services, and under the guidance of the Senior Web Architect, the Web Programmer will conceptualize, plan, and implement web pages and other projects that provide communication across a variety of platforms. Incumbent will collaborate with other staff web and multimedia developers and designers to evaluate current and future needs and successfully complete projects.

-Support code development, testing and implementation of distributed UCR web presence technologies.
-Assist in developing integrated systems providing access to campus-wide information.
-Support upgrade of existing Web applications.
-Help facilitate administration of the content management system.
-Provide project management for web development projects

Minimum Requirements

Education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science or related field.

Demonstrated ability to analyze, design, code, test, debug, and document moderate to complex computer programs.

Experienced working knowledge of database design techniques required to create database tables necessary to support websites.

Proven, demonstrated experience to work independently and develop sophisticated software systems. Ability to learn new related skills on an ongoing basis.

Experience in accessibility issues, cross-platform and cross-browser compatibility, and smooth degradation of code.
