Position Purpose
Provide appropriate medical/surgical diagnostic and treatment services to Student Health Services/University of California, Riverside patients, including health education and prevention services, prescribing appropriate medication, making appropriate referrals for complicated diagnostic or procedural medical problems and provide followup care as recommended. |

Patient Care: Provide appropriate primary care and outpatient medical/surgical diagnostic and treatment services to Student Health Services patients. This includes utilization of all opportunities to provide health education and prevention services, prescribing appropriate medication, making appropriate referrals for complicated diagnostic or procedural medical problems and provide follow-up care as recommended. Staff a Women's Health Clinic in providing care, treatment and health education to a young female population. | |

Participate with other colleagues in decision-making through membership on various committees of the Student Health Services. Assist in the development of protocols, procedures and policies. |

1. Unrestricted license to practice medicine/surgery in the state of California. 2. Board certification in Family Practice, Adolescent Medicine, or Internal Medicine. 3. Be able to Pass Credentialing and Background check. 4. Current CPR and AED certification for the treatment of medical emergencies. 5. Experience in Electronic Medical Records (EMR). 6. Skills and knowledge to meet the standards of practice in the local medical community and in accordance with the laws of the state of California. 7. Clinical duties require a reasonable level of manual dexterity, visual and auditory acuity. 8. Courteous and pleasant manner. Ability to treat co-workers with respect and to resolve conflict by acceptable means. 9. Ability to relate well to students and staff as a provider. Flexibility in working with people from a variety of backgrounds, cultures, lifestyles, ethnicities and religions. Ability to read, write and speak fluent English. 10. Ability to stand for extended periods of time and the ability to work alone for periods of time that may exceed the normal 8-hour day. Ability to safely lift and move 40 pounds. |
