The UC Riverside Office of Strategic Communications provides campus leadership in planning, coordinating and implementing communications programs that foster increased awareness, understanding and support of UC Riverside's mission, vision, accomplishments and needs among its many internal and external constituencies. About the Position: Reporting to the Director of Creative Services, and working in close collaboration with current designers, web and video unit staff, the Graphic Design Support position is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day creative of all the group interactive and print projects including but not limited to: brochures, annual reports, advertisements, handouts, logos, posters, invitations, web design, interactive projects, and any other assigned media for internal and external audiences. This individual will leverage corporate brand standards, as well as knowledge of usability and online design best practices that will support marketing initiatives.

Minimum Requirements

*Bachelor's degree and minimum two years experience, or equivalent, in a professional services environment, with graphic design as a primary responsibility.
*Experience in providing cost-effective, professional graphic design and video animation services, including strong client management and project management skills.
*Knowledge of design, typography, and composition. Ability to exhibit artistic vision and creativity. Ability to produce original designs.
*Experience in designing websites, and electronic communications.
*Ability to execute designs following the parameters established by the Creative Director and/or Senior Designer. Ability to be flexible and attention to detail.
*Design and optimization of assets for websites, e-mail, online ads.
*Familiarity with brand stewardship and strategic marketing best practices.
*Demonstrate positive attitude and strong communications skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse campus community that includes students, faculty, communications colleagues and senior campus leadership.
*Ability to work with a team as well as individually. Ability to accept creative direction.
*Ability to work on multiple projects under tight deadlines. Ability to organize and deliver design elements for large scope web projects as requested and / or directed by supervisors.

Preferred Qualifications

*Experience working in higher education and/or for non-profit organizations.
*Experience working within an agency or organization.
*Basic understanding of XHTML, CSS, and Flash.
*Experience with Premiere and/or After Effects for video animation.
*Experience in PowerPoint and/or Keynote.
*Knowledge of emerging trends in print and multi-media design.
