About this position: UCR, Strategic Communications, seeks a Development/Campaign Communications Coordinator committed to working in close collaboration with a cross-functional marketing and multimedia team. This position will also help support a university-wide integrated marketing program, including branding and identity stewardship, market research, and strategic message development. The incumbent will produce and coordinate production of print and digital fundraising and promotional materials in support of a multi-year, campus-wide comprehensive campaign. During this campaign, the incumbent will produce and coordinate production of print and digital campaign publications and proposals, implement targeted marketing programs, provide event collateral materials, as well as write/edit content for general campus marketing initiatives, direct mail and e-solicitation campaigns, website content, and video productions. About Strategic Communications: The Office of Strategic Communications is a team of professionals responsible for creating and managing the marketing and messaging of the University of California, Riverside. Minimum Requirements

o Bachelor's degree in a related field and four years of experience in marketing and market research or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

o Knowledge of principles and practices of communications and marketing programs that compliment major gift fund raising programs.

o Demonstrated strong writing (web and print) skills and editing experience to produce targeted communications and marketing materials with clarity and accuracy. Skill to translate complex material into clear, lively, straightforward prose.

o Demonstrated experience in developing successful communications and marketing plans that have been effective in meeting established objectives.

o Experience in coordinating publications from concept to finished product, including writing, editing, proofreading, fact checking, and adhering to production schedules.

o Excellent interpersonal communication and client management skills; experience in public communications, both written and verbal.

o Strong organizational and time management skills; with ability to work successfully as part of a communications office team.

Preferred Qualifications

o Experience creating fundraising collateral materials for educational or other not-for-profit institutions

o Experience working in a university environment. Knowledge of a broad range of academic and institutional issues related to a major research university environment.

o Experience with grant-writing and proposals for submission to individual donors, corporations and charitable foundations.

o Experience with event planning and management.

o Experience with social media best practices.

o Familiarity with media relations best practices.
