Position Information

The A. Gary Anderson Graduate School of Management (AGSM) at the University of California, Riverside offers a nationally-ranked MBA program that is also on the list of "10 Business Schools with the Most International Students". Our graduate school offers a full-time Masters of Business Administration (MBA), Flex MBA, Master of Professional Accounting (MPAc) and Master of Finance (MFin) programs. In addition, a PhD program, The Interdepartmental Graduate Program in Management, began in Fall 2011.

The Student Affairs Officer II's primary areas of responsibility includes: provide information to prospective applicants; counsel applicants in person, via telephone and/or email on the admission process; process applications checking for complete files; assist in the evaluation of the graduate student applications and transcripts; planning & support for SoBA/AGSM graduates events which include recruiting events, information sessions, graduate programs orientation as well as other events.

The Student Affairs Officer II will work closely with the entire Graduate Program(s) team to develop, implement and evaluate the marketing strategy, recruitment programs and admissions process for all graduate programs.

Minimum Requirements

1. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field and minimum two years' related experience in an academic environment or equivalent work experience.
2. Demonstrated knowledge of business school/program admission policies, procedures and practices.
3. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
4. Strong organizational and time-management skills necessary to meet daily, weekly and monthly deadlines.
5. Demonstrated experience with computer application software including Microsoft Word, Excel, and online student information systems
6. Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to interact professionally and effectively with students, faculty, co-workers, administration and the public.
7. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
8. Strong analytical skills for student application evaluation, interpretation and recommendation.
9. Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
10. Customer service oriented with the ability to provide excellent service to prospective, admitted and enrolled students.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Knowledge of University of California and Graduate Council regulations regarding Graduate student admissions and enrollment.
2. Knowledge of UCR academic curriculum and application/admission procedures.
3. Knowledge of Hobson's Connect (CRM) software.
