Position Information

In support of the School of Public Policy (SPP) and the Graduate School of Education (GSOE), the Grants Facilitator serves a strategic role in identifying and securing extramural funding that supports the research, instruction, and public service missions of the SPP and the GSOE. The position serves the faculty and Deans, with responsibility to identify extramural funding opportunities and coordinate proposal and pre-award processes. The position will have a strong focus on acquiring large multi-investigator and multidisciplinary awards. Responsibilities include writing portions of these large complex proposals and editing them to unify and enhance the contributions of disparate writers, as well as supporting faculty in identifying these large funding opportunities. The position will also support junior faculty to assist them in proposal organization and editing. This multi-level search will result in the hire of either a senior or junior level Grants Facilitator depending on the successful candidate's level of experience. A Senior Grants Facilitator (Research Administrator 4) is responsible for performing the highest level of administrative analysis. Positions are allocated to this level on the basis of internal comparison, the nature and scope of responsibilities, and the specialized requirements of the work. A Research Administrator 4 is required to have a Bachelor's degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience/training and a minimum of 8 years of related experience. In addition, the senior level candidate has demonstrated skill in identifying large multi-disciplinary grants and some experience in working with granting agencies, researchers and/or faculty in a university setting.

A Junior Grants Facilitator (Research Administrator 3) will provide staff assistance to campus officials in studying and developing recommendations that lead to major changes in organization, policies, procedures and practices, and may supervise other Analysts, or conducts responsible and complex analysis of administrative organization, policies, procedures, practices, and cost-benefit studies on a University-wide basis. Administrative analysis duties are performed under minimal supervision and work is reviewed in terms of meeting specific goals and objectives. A Research Administrator 3 is required to have a Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training and a minimum of 5 years of related experience. In addition, a junior level candidate must have demonstrated writing skills coupled with enthusiasm for higher education & research.
