Position Information
The School of Business at the University of California, Riverside is a nationally-ranked and internationally-recognized AACSB-accredited business school. With over 14,000 alumni all over the world, it is home to the largest undergraduate business program in the University of California system, as well as to the A. Gary Anderson Graduate School of Management, which features MBA, Ph.D., Flex MBA, Master of Professional Accountancy (MPAc), and Master of Finance (MFin) programs. The Business School is positioned as a center of excellence in business education through cutting-edge research on the business challenges of the 21st century. The Associate Director of Graduate Admissions actively supports the development and execution of recruitment activities for the A. Gary Anderson Graduate School of Management (AGSM), conducts, and participates in recruiting prospective graduate students.
The Associate Director works closely with other members of the Graduate Programs Office along with other stakeholders, as assigned. The Associate Director interacts with prospective students from a variety of academic, cultural, national, and socioeconomic backgrounds. The position counsels prospective applicants on the graduate programs available, application criteria, and financial aid programs.
The Associate Director assesses candidates backgrounds and future academic/career goals to effectively advise them of appropriate programs. The Associate Director of Graduate Admissions proactively coaches applicants on the various admissions processes and criteria, documentation requirements, and on-boarding activities. High volume admissions counseling occurs primarily by in-person appointments, tele-counselling and/or email. The Associate Director may score application essays, conduct student interviews, and assess candidates' backgrounds and future academic/career goals to effectively represent candidates to the admissions committee. All candidate information and interactions are appropriately recorded in the department's CRM systems. The Associate Director stays current on a wide range of school and university policies, and macro educational trends affecting graduate management students and admissions. During the peak recruiting season, the incumbent will contribute to the success of various recruitment activities by traveling extensively domestically and internationally.
