Position Information
This position serves as an HR Manager within the Strategic Executive Administrative Team (SEAT), providing strategic HR leadership and service delivery of the full range of human resource functions the campus' senior leadership, as well as for divisions and units in the Offices of the Chancellor, Provost, Vice Chancellor-Planning & Budget, UC-Mexico Initiative, (approximately 120 full-time employees total). This role provides consultation and support to the executive management team on complex issues in support of driving business objectives. It has a dual reporting relationship to the Executive Officer and the Associate Vice Chancellor - Human Resources. It is characterized by a high degree of collaboration and coordination in creating and implementing the strategy, framework, and infrastructure in support of all functions of human resources. The SEAT HR Manager will support the SEAT organizational objectives and strategies in partnership with the central campus Human Resources division, SEAT-supported organizations and their departments, the relevant Shared Services organization and UCPath. The position assesses and anticipates organizational HR needs and works with central campus Human Resources and organizational leadership to develop integrated solutions, including the implementation of system-wide, campus and SEAT initiatives. As an important member of SEAT, this position is responsible for recommending, implementing, administering, coordinating and evaluating HR policies, programs, and procedures including the following: recruitment, compensation, employee and labor relations, payroll, benefits, training and development. PLEASE NOTE: The SEAT HR Manager is a working manager position responsible for both the oversight of the HR function for SEAT-supported units and engaging in the day-to-day work required to ensure successful attainment of unit goals and objectives. This position is part of the Provost / EVC organization.
