Position Information
Under the general direction of the Associate Vice Chancellor for Human Resources, the Workplace Health and Wellness Manager is responsible for full-cycle ownership of faculty and staff disability case management. In addition, the Workplace Health and Wellness Manager will provide leadership and direction for the following functions: Return to Work, Ergonomics, Workstrong, and Wellness programs. Management duties include responsibility for program management and coordination, loss prevention analysis, communications, training, reports, financial outcomes and support and collaboration with Enterprise Risk Management for maintaining compliance with University requirements for a self-insured workers' compensation program as well as disability management, workplace health and wellness, and ergonomic initiatives. Directs the development and implementation of strategies and programs to prevent loss and to minimize the financial and human impact of losses to the campus while ensuring a high level of customer service. Acts as a resource to UCR departments relating to federal and state disability laws and University policies relating to employees with disabilities, and applies those standards to program operations. Coordinates with other Human Resources functions such as Labor Relations, Benefits, Policies and Program as well as other campus departments i.e. Environmental Health and Safety, Enterprise Risk Management, Campus Counsel, Equal Employment/Affirmative Action and other campus departments as required by business necessity.
