Position Information
University Extension provides professional and continuing studies for the Inland Empire and internationally. This position performs responsibilities in the department of Education in University Extension. The primary objective of the Education department is to offer credential and certificate programs consistent with student demand and school district need. Several programs have been developed and approved in accordance with the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing guidelines and mandated content. The department mission is to serve the educational community and participating students by consistently offering high quality training programs staffed by the most proficient and qualified instructors obtainable. Under the supervision of the Student Services Advisor, the Public Education Specialist administers teacher certification, youth and other special programs in Extension's Education Department. Conducts research and analyzes program content and delivery needs to secure appropriate presentation settings. Arranges logistics, and ensures appropriate course materials and technology is available to support projects. Provides high quality customer service to students, instructors, staff and educational partners.
