Position Information
Under the leadership of the associate vice chancellor for university development and directly reporting to the senior director of development for campus-wide initiatives, UC Riverside seeks a motivated, energetic, innovative, collaborative, and knowledgeable individual to assume the position of associate director of development for research centers & institutes (ADoD-RCI). The individual in this position will develop and execute long- and short-term strategies to grow the philanthropic pipeline and secure leadership major gifts in support of campus-wide research centers. UCR's research centers and institutes offer students and faculty opportunities to collaborate on pioneering research across disciplines and colleges. This position will help raise philanthropic support for nationally recognized interdisciplinary research centers such as the Center for Advanced Neuroimaging (CAN), the College of Engineering's Center for Environmental Research and Technology (CE-CERT), and the Center for Geospatial Sciences (CGS), the Stem Cell Center, and the Brain Games Center.
The ADoD-RCI will identify and manage a group of approximately 150 prospects for major gifts. This will include local and some regional travel for qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. The ADoD-RCI will arrange appropriate opportunities for key research faculty and academic leaders to meet with potential donors, and will work collaboratively with other University Advancement colleagues to achieve fundraising goals. The ADoD-RCI will work closely with the vice chancellor for research and economic development and the administrative cabinet to plan and execute research center fundraising strategy as part of UC Riverside's $300 million comprehensive campaign, which runs through 2020. This is a two-year, renewable contract position which includes the same benefits afforded career employees. Cover letter and complete application required.
