Position Information

Reporting to the Deputy University Librarian, the Academic Personnel/Human Resources Director will serve as the Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) for the University Library, and work collaboratively with Library leadership to deliver academic and staff human resources services in support of Library organizational objectives and strategies in a partnership with central campus HR and the Academic Personnel Office (APO). This position has a dotted reporting relationship to the Associate Vice Chancellor for Human Resources. The Academic Personnel/Human Resources Director manages the daily operations of Library Human Resources, is responsible for managing and processing academic and staff new hires, recruitment plans, workforce planning/administration and retention, selection process, performance management program administration and reporting, advising on organizational design, supports the academic review process, and advises on organizational design.The Director provides expertise in the areas of compensation, performance management including disciplinary actions, labor relations, and training and staff development. As a liaison with central campus offices such as Academic Personnel, Human Resources, Employee & Labor Relations, and Affirmative Action, ensures compliance with university, federal and state policies, and develops and recommends policy updates and changes. The Director assesses and anticipates organization needs, and collaborates with the Library leadership, APO and central HR to develop integrated solutions to resolve highly complex issues. The Director will supervise at least one HR Generalist staff. Note: the budgeted hiring range for this position is up to $113,000.
