EAOP/P20 Regional Coordinator

Position Information

The goal of EAOP is to prepare program participants for post-secondary college enrollment. Through academic advising, workshops and presentations, the Regional Coordinator will provide students and families with information to ensure students are academic prepared and college-ready. In addition, coordinator will form academic alliances within schools, school districts, and community agencies. Position is 12 month career position with possibility of extension dependent upon needs and funding. Two positions available. The budgeted salary for this position is between $41,300.00 - $51,350.00.

Minimum of 2 years of related experience. Required
Minimum of 2 years advising and supporting educationally disadvantaged and academically at-risk students regarding postsecondary opportunities and careers. Required

Special Conditions

Special Condition Requirement
Must be able to work weekends (Saturday and Sunday), evenings, and attend overnight trips; traveling by air or automobile to attend training sessions, conferences, and workshops. Required
Must posess or obtain a valid California Driver's License in accordance with the Department of Motor Vehicles Required
Must be able to pass a Department of Justice & FBI background check. Required
Travel Required
Travel Outside of Normal Business Hours Required

Minimum Requirements

Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Knowledge of higher education institutions (UC, CSU, CC, etc.), admissions and financial aid requirements, and the ability to interpret policies and procedures to youth, parents, and school representatives.
Knowledge and understanding of K-14 education.
Knowledge and experience working with a diverse student population, and sensitivity to culture, race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, and socio-economic status.
Ability to maintain cooperative relationships with school district administrators, school counselors, principals, teachers, and community contacts.
Demonstrated ability to conceptualize, plan, and coordinate educational events that meet specific needs for program participants,
Experience advising and supporting educationally disadvantaged and academically at-risk students regarding postsecondary opportunities and careers.
Thorough knowledge of high school graduation and college entrance requirements.
Proven ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with diplomacy and tact.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of University policies and procedures relating to admissions, housing, financial aid, and student support services.
