Research Director

Position Information

The Research Director of the Center for Social Innovation (CSI) will work closely with the CSI Director, CSI faculty, and Research Manager to coordinate CSI research activities, serve as research lead on projects as needed, supervise the work of the Research Manager, and take the lead in coordinating research proposal writing and managing post-award grants. The anticipated duration of this position is one year with the possibility of continuation contingent upon funding. The budgeted salary for this position is about $95,000.

Education

Advanced degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. Required
Terminal degree in a related field (PhD, JD, MD, etc.). Required
Masters degree in social science or related field. Preferred
Ph.D. in social science or related field. Preferred

Experience

Experience Requirement
6 - 10 years of related experience. Required

Minimum Requirements

Advanced oral and written communication skills.
Advanced interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse groups to achieve results.
Advanced knowledge of administrative, budgetary, human resources and financial principles and practices.
Highly skilled fundraising experience.
Advanced ability to work collaboratively with internal and external peers and managers.
Academic background and experience in selected area of research.
Advanced ability to think creatively and independently on concepts requiring advanced analytical skills.
Exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.
Demonstrated experience working in a research project management position.
Budget management experience.
Proven grant-writing ability.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with a range of stakeholders including university faculty, students, donors, government, business, and community agencies.

Experience working in an academic research or policy environment.

Demonstrated success in grant-writing and grant management.
