Position Information

The Staff Psychologist provides direct clinical psychological service to the UCR campus. The primary responsibility of this position is to provide individual, couples, and group therapy to UCR students and prioritizes working with students from marginalized communities including Black/African American, Latinx, Undocumented, Indigenous/First Nations, Asian American/Pacific Islander, Multi-racial, and other students of color. This position provides crisis intervention services; consults with students, staff, and faculty; served as a supervisor for our APA accredited internship program; and serves on University committees, representing the CAPS department. The Staff Psychologist will also serve as a liaison and provides outreach to various campus communities. A successful applicant will demonstrate commitment to diversity and inclusion with a deep commitment to supporting under represented groups in our community. Finalist will be required to provide a presentation as part of the selection process.

This posting is looking to recruit for three (3) open full time positions.

Doctorate degree (Ph.D/Psy.D) in Clinical Psychology or related Psychology discipline Required

Licenses

License Requirement
Current, valid license to practice Psychology in California (or other state licensure in parity with CA requirements). Must maintain CA licensure through the Board of Psychology and maintain UCOP credentialing/privileging standards. Required

Conditions

Maintenance of appropriate continuing education and specifically supervision continuing education required of supervisors of interns. Required
Focused study on Diversity and Inclusion and particularly work with underrepresented communities. Preferred

Minimum Requirements

Thorough knowledge associated with providing evaluation, diagnosis and psychotherapy services, and thorough skills associated with conducting complex diagnosis, problem-solving and critical-thinking.
Must be computer literate with skills required to complete electronic documentation of clinical services.
Thorough knowledge of applicable laws and standards of professional conduct, and ability to conduct complex analysis and develop and present recommendations and course of treatment.
Ability to work in a highly collaborative manner with diverse client group, members of the medical staff and faculty.
Highly effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.Demonstrated ability to effectively use interpersonal skills while representing the department on campus and to external units.
Ability to participate in occasional after-hours on-call rotation and other after-hours campus activities. Shift Work (hours outside standard Mon-Fri 8AM-5PM work hours) Occasional evening and weekend work hours and an expectation of availability after hours to serve the occasional emergent needs of students and campus challenges/crises.
Knowledge of intersectionality and how it impacts the daily lives of students including but not limited to historically underrepresented BIPOC students, African American, Asian American, Latinx, international, first-generation, undocumented, veterans, students with disabilities, and LGBTQI+.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in serving those with eating disorders.

Strong focus and work supporting the needs of historically underrepresented students and emphasis on social justice, equity and inclusion.

Experience in serving the Asian and Pacific Islanders communities.

Experience in serving the African Diaspora communities.

Experience in serving the LGBTQ+ communities and identities

Experience in serving Latinx communities.
