Position Information

Ninova Lab at the Department of Biochemistry, UC Riverside, is seeking a laboratory assistant. Under the supervision of the PI (Dr Maria Ninova), the individual will participate in ongoing projects in the lab focused on understanding the molecular mechanisms of chromatin regulation in Drosophila, and assist with general lab operations and maintenance. A highly motivated individual will have the opportunity to develop independent research projects and author publications in addition to providing support for other lab members. Recent graduates are encouraged to also include an academic transcript.

Education

Education Requirements

Degree Requirement
Graduation from high school or a General Education Diploma and one year of laboratory experience or two years of college including courses in the natural, physical or social sciences; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; and knowledges and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position. Required

Experience

Experience Requirement
Prior lab experience in standard molecular biology methods such as PCR and cloning Preferred
Experience with Drosophila is a plus but is not required Preferred

Minimum Requirements

Strong organizational and time-management skills

Preferred Qualifications

Proficiency in preparing complex solutions including calculating concentrations

Understanding of Mendelian genetics
