Position Information
The Assistant Director is a key member of the CAPS Leadership team and takes a direct role in the management of Counseling and Psychological Services day to day operations. This position will coordinate with the Manager of Quality and compliance to ensure that CAPS maintains high standards of excellence and compliance with accrediting bodies and quality control, including coordination of peer review activities, annual and reaccreditation reporting and satisfaction measures. Provides leadership for and participates actively in urgent care and after hours on-call schedules, and maintains a small caseload. Responds and guides and supports other clinicians in response to campus emergencies and crisis situations. This position directly supervises licensed and pre-licensed clinicians. Actively supports mental health outreach efforts; and serves on University committees. The CAPS department prioritizes working with students from marginalized communities including Black/African American, Latinx, Undocumented, Indigenous/First Nations, Asian American/Pacific Islander, Multi-racial, and other students of color and various identities. A successful applicant will demonstrate commitment to diversity and inclusion with a deep commitment to supporting under represented groups in our community. Finalists will be required to provide a presentation as part of the selection process.

Working knowledge of human resources management practices and policies.
Ability to organize operations in an efficient and effective manner.
Strong interpersonal skills to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships.
Knowledge of business software, specialized applications and EHR systems used in behavioral health centers/clinics.
Demonstrated supervisory skills to guide behavioral health providers on treatment methods.
