Position Information

There are two positions available. These positions are designated as Career Ladder recruitments, which means the hiring department can recruit and fill this role at different levels within the position classification series. Therefore, this position is currently posted as Applications Programmer 3/24385844) and/or Applications Programmer 4/23839548). In support of the IT Service Management (ITSM) initiative, this position will support the development and implementation of optimizing enterprise service management processes, and improving service delivery and collaboration within and across business functions. The Service Management Developer will serve as a developer for UC Riverside staff, faculty, and students configuring and building modules, forms, and workflows in the ServiceNow Platform to positively align with business strategies and affect business and student outcomes. This position will use the ITIL framework to provide technical assistance, workflow development, software configuration, customization, and web service integrations. This may also include providing administration, application development, maintenance, and technical support.

Both positions are classified as remote with occasional visits to campus as needed. Working hours will be based on Pacific Standard Time (PST). The maximum budgeted annual salary for each position is $117,100.

Minimum Requirements

Demonstrated ability to understand functional needs and how systems can support those needs. Demonstrated ability to develop conversion and system implementation plans.
Thorough experience with common programming tools. Demonstrated ability to follow software specifications.
Demonstrated broad problem solving skills.
Intermediate knowledge of secure software development.
Experience with planning for deployment and creation of feedback mechanisms.
Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization.
Thorough experience with identification and use of code libraries and open-source forums.
Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Advanced skills associated with software design, modification, implementation and deployment, including object-oriented programming concepts.
Demonstrated ability to contribute technical narrative to grant proposals.
Demonstrated ability to interface with management on a regular basis.
Demonstrated software repository skills. Demonstrated testing and test planning skills.
Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team. Able to learn effectively and meet deadlines.
Full understanding of industry-wide business process and analysis practices, industry best practices, and organizational policies and procedures.
Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and peers to achieve a desired outcome.
Demonstrated ability to mentor more junior developers when needed.
Demonstrated ability to develop technical documentation for configuration and requirements specifications.
High degree of proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS/SASS, and Angular.

Preferred Qualifications

Thorough knowledge of ITIL framework and IT Service Management.

Ability to plan, research, and resolve organizational effectiveness issues, with general instructions and guidance provided on new assignments and/or more unique situations including strategic planning.
