Position Information

Provides news, branded messaging and information to key audiences as part of a strategic communication plan that elevates the mission and message of the UCR School of Medicine. Increases production of stories, press releases, articles, op-ed, social media, etc. Assists in implementing programs and activities and gathering information designed to enhance the public's understanding and appreciation of the UCR School of Medicine. Assists in gathering and preparing news and information. The budgeted hiring maximum is $83,400.

Knowledge of computer applications for publishing, image handling, and/or web production.
Thorough knowledge of the fundamentals of writing, grammar, syntax, style, and punctuation.
Thorough knowledge of appropriate editorial style and publication guidelines.
Thorough research and fact verification skills.
Thorough analytical and critical thinking skills.
Thorough knowledge of issues in higher education, a specialized academic discipline or field and/or health sciences.

Preferred Qualifications

Thorough knowledge of the location, including its mission, goals, achievements, infrastructure, programs, and policies.
