Position Information

The AAPI Data project at the University of California, Riverside seeks a program specialist in data and community partnerships for a variety of projects and initiatives, working in close coordination with the co-directors, senior researchers, staff of AAPI Data, as well as partners that include community organizations, research centers, government agencies, private philanthropy, and news organizations. The Data and Community Partnership Specialist is responsible for helping to build user-friendly data tables, mapping tools, and other data visualization tools for a variety of audiences and partners, and to organize workshops and briefings that enable partners to make effective use of these tools. The Data and Community Partnership Specialist is expected to demonstrate excellent project management skills, possess a track record of overseeing multiple streams of work, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. A strong attention to detail, and the ability to multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines are required. This is a two-year position, with renewal based on performance and the availability of additional funding. This position is intended to work remotely, from home. The budgeted salary for this position is about $75,000. A writing sample will be required of all final candidates.

Working skills in analysis and consultation.
Working knowledge of research function.
Working skills in statistical analysis, systems programming, database design and data security measures.
Skills to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner both verbally and in writing.

Preferred Qualifications

Skills associated with user interface/user experience design (UI/UX).

Skills associated with the use of open-source statistical software, including Python and R.

Skills associated with mapping software, including working with shapefiles and demographic data.

Skills associated with web scraping and making API requests to server-based data.

Skills associated with training on research and data tools.
