Position Information
The position's purpose is to strengthen UCR SOM's strategic planning and implementation capacity as well as amplify project management and grant funding efforts focused on UCR SOM's strategic plan priorities. Reporting to the Chief of Staff/Assistant Dean for Strategic Initiatives in the Dean's Office, this role requires an understanding of UCR SOM's priorities, attention to detail and timelines, project management experience, ability to collect, analyze, interpret and display data and metrics, excellent communication skills and clear and compelling writing skills. The Strategic Planning and Project Manager is responsible for strategic planning, data and metrics collection, project management, grant research and application and other special projects. Will meet with department chairs and develop strategic plans for their units, ensuring alignment with with SOM overall plan. Also responsible for planning and overseeing special projects. Will identify opportunities and facilitate the writing and submitting of public non-NIH institution-level grant proposals to help support UCR SOM's strategic priorities, Will also collect, organize, analyze and communicate key data and metrics for SOM. Under general supervision, this position will work collaboratively with numerous stakeholders across the School of Medicine and UCR Health including Executive Leadership, Education and Student Affairs, Clinical and Research Department Chairs, Government Relations Office, Development / Advancement Office, and Office of Research, and Finance and Administration. This positionâs scope includes all UCR SOM missions, encompassing patient care, research, education and community service. UCR SOM's major priorities include, but are not limited to, growing student enrollment, expanding research, caring for vulnerable patient populations, supporting a diverse and inclusive culture, and bolstering capital and IT infrastructure as well as developing innovative education pathways and support for tomorrow's clinicians and scientists. The maximum budgeted annual salary for this position is $96,100. **As a condition of employment, you will be required to comply with the University of California SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) Vaccination Program Policy. All Covered Individuals under the policy must provide proof of Full Vaccination or, if applicable, submit a request for Exception (based on Medical Exemption, Disability, and/or Religious Objection) or Deferral (based on pregnancy) no later than the applicable deadline. For new University of California employees, the applicable deadline is eight weeks after their first date of employment.
