Position Information

Reporting to the CFO, the Finance Analyst performs analysis, reporting and auditing for University Extension. Works with the CFO extracts data from UCR and Extension systems to develop reports for monthly, quarterly and annual reporting and forecasting. Develops new reports and audits financial data to measure against organizational KPIs. At budget managers' requests provides data and reports to assist in budget management. Assists with a variety of financial services, including reconciling. Works to resolve financial related problems, performing analysis, interpreting policy, and providing recommendations. Works cross-functionally in workgroups to perform analysis and process improvement. This is a primarily remote working position with a requirement to work in-person on campus and business needs dictate. An incumbent must have the ability to be in-person with 2-3 days notice. ** PLEASE NOTE: This recruitment will give selection preference to current UCR Staff. UC Riverside career employees who have passed their probationary period will receive priority consideration for this position. If a qualified pool of candidates from the campus is not identified, qualified candidates from the UC system, or external candidates may be considered at the discretion of the hiring department.**

Skills to provide coaching and mentoring to support staff.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
Intermediate knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources.
Ability to function effectively as a member of a team.
Proficiency in the use of spreadsheet and database software.
Strong knowledge of financial data management and reporting systems.
Working knowledge of financial processes, policies and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of financial needs in a continuing education environment.
