Position Information
Reporting to the Technology Solutions Supervisor at University Extension, the Systems and Network Administrator provides information technology support to University Extension's staff, students, and instructors who work primarily in remote locations. Major duties include implementing, maintaining, troubleshooting, monitoring servers, appliances, end-user computing devices, and firewalls to ensure system up-time, integrity and data security. This is a hybrid position.

Minimum Requirements
Demonstrated understanding of how system management actions affect users and dependent/related functions.
Familiarity with Virtual Server environments. Especially Proxmox.
Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team. Demonstrates problem-solving skills. Able to learn effectively and meet deadlines.
Demonstrated knowledge of computer security best practices and policies.
Understanding of system performance monitoring and actions that can be taken to improve or correct performance.
Demonstrated experience writing and editing scripts of moderate complexity used to perform system maintenance and administration.
General knowledge of other areas of IT.
Basic knowledge of how to apply technologies and systems to meet business needs.
Ability to write technical documentation in a clear and concise manner.
Knowledge of the design, development and application of technology and systems to meet business needs.
Ability to manage various networking network devices and protocols such as: VPNs, firewalls, system controls (802.1X), and wireless; including researching, installing, updating, monitoring and troubleshooting.
Ability to elicit and communicate technical and non-technical information in a clear and concise manner.
Ability to administer the following server and services: MS Active Directory (Group Policies), MS SQL Server, Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager MECM (Formerly SCCM)
