Position Information

The Director of Operations (DO) is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Center for Social Innovation (CSI) in the School of Public Policy (SPP) and co-leading the strategic positioning for long-term growth and success of the Center. The key responsibilities of the position include oversight and management of fiscal operations, human resources, and Center facilities as well as policy development and implementation. The DO also informs and influences executive-level decision-making concerning organization-wide and division-level strategic and budgetary planning by providing high-level analysis, reports, recommendations, and consultative support to the Executive Director. The budgeted hiring range for this position is up to approximately $105,000. All shortlisted candidates will be asked to provide 1 to 3 examples of prior annual reports or financial reports, with information redacted as needed.

Minimum Requirements

Advanced knowledge of financial analysis and reporting techniques, and/or human resources policies and procedures for staff and academic employees.
Advanced interpersonal communication skills to include verbal and written, active listening, critical thinking, persuasiveness, advising and counseling skills.
Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality.
Advanced knowledge of a variety of administrative operational activities such as events planning, basic fundraising processes, risk management planning, website design, accounting and payroll, and contracts and grants regulations and guidelines.
Knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources.

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced knowledge of University rules and regulations, processes, protocols and procedures for budget, accounting and fund management, and/or personnel management.

Advanced knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs.

Advanced skills in short and long term strategic planning, analysis and problem-solving and customer service.

Advanced knowledge, skills,and ability using Microsoft Excel to create, modify, and maintain financial reports.
