Position Information
The Advisor for Fraternities and Sororities is responsible for providing comprehensive support to the university's social fraternities and sororities; including assistance with University recognition, recruitment, program and event planning, major event management, risk management, accessing University resources, understanding and negotiating University policies and procedures, organizational development and enhancement, fundraising, promotion, marketing, and communication.
The Advisor will also take on large-scale programs/projects within the Student Organization Team. The Coordinator will also assist at various departmental functions and events. This position will support the Student Life office's mission, vision, and strategic plan. The budgeted amount for this position is up to $55,000. **As a condition of employment, you will be required to comply with the University of California SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) Vaccination Program Policy. All Covered Individuals under the policy must provide proof of Full Vaccination or, if applicable, submit a request for Exception (based on Medical Exemption, Disability, and/or Religious Objection) or Deferral (based on pregnancy) no later than the applicable deadline. For new University of California employees, the applicable deadline is eight weeks after their first date of employment.

Minimum Requirements

Thorough knowledge of Student Affairs/Student Life specialization.
Thorough knowledge of advising and counseling techniques.
Skills in judgment and decision-making, problem solving, identifying measures of system performance and the actions to improve performance.
Abilities in project management, problem identification and reasoning skills.

Preferred Qualifications
Strong knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs and knowledge of University and departmental principles and procedures involved in risk assessment and evaluating risks as to likelihood and consequences.
