Position Information

The purpose of the research coordinator position is to help the UCR Perception, Action, and Development Lab (PADLAB) carry out projects for Dr. Franchak’s NSF-funded grant to investigate infants’ everyday experiences. The projects involve collecting data from families with young infants in the Riverside County area through surveys and home visits. The research coordinator would schedule study appointments, collect data from human subjects through surveys and home visits, organize data and other files relating to the research project, and contribute to data analysis. There are 2 openings for this position. Both positions will work a 75% appointment percentage. Both positions have a duration of 1 year and may be extended based on funding and dept needs.

Graduation from high school or a General Education Diploma. Required
Bachelor's degree in psychology, cognitive science, neuroscience, computer science, or a related field Preferred

Experience

Experience Requirement
Minimum of 3 years laboratory experience or two years of college including courses in the natural, physical or social sciences and two years of laboratory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; and knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position. Required

Special Conditions

Frequent travel to participants' homes within a 40-mile radius of UC Riverside to collect experimental data Required

Minimum Requirements

Excellent skills working with subjects in a research setting
Proficiency in conducting statistical analyses with SPSS, R, or another statistical package
Demonstrated ability to manage students and research assistants in a laboratory setting
Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced computer skills such as programming experience in R, MATLAB, Python, or a related programming language

Proficiency in written and verbal communication in Spanish

Ability to occasionally work on an evening or weekend to assist in the recruitment of participants or to collect study data
