Position Information

Under close supervision from the Admissions Manager, this position is responsible for providing assistance in the evaluation of applicants to the School of Medicine. The primary areas of responsibility include: preparation of materials from applicants for review by the admissions committee, assisting on interview days and/or admissions committee meetings, and providing information to the public and prospective applicants on admissions requirements. Please note that this position is a limited appointment at 50% time, not to exceed 1,000 hours with an expected end date of April 30, 2023.

Special Conditions

Special Condition Requirement
Approximately 15 admissions events require incumbent to work on weekday, evenings, and Saturdays. Required

Minimum Requirements

Ability to maintain cooperative relationships with schools, universities, community organizations and other institutions.
Basic knowledge of UC, and the ability to explain basic information to prospective applicants and the public.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Ability to maintain positive interactions with others and work cooperatively.
Basic knowledge of academic programs, including curricula, admissions requirements at UC.
Basic knowledge and experience working with a diverse student population.
Knowledge of and experience using software systems in the completion of work assignments; i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
Ability to analyze, interpret and evaluate statistical data and policy.
Knowledge of FERPA and HIPAA federal regulations. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications

Basic knowledge of video conferencing software such as Zoom.

Basic knowledge of medical school/program admissions policies, procedures and practices.

Knowledge of AMCAS, AMP, Banner and/or other student information software systems.
