Position Information
Information Technology Solutions (ITS) is recruiting for 2 positions. These positions are designated as a Career Ladder recruitment, which means the hiring department can recruit and fill this role at different levels within the position classification series. Therefore, this position is currently posted as an SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR 2 / ID #26353662) and/or SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR 3 / ID #26359453). The Configuration Analyst, while under broad supervision, will be responsible for analyzing department requirements, procedures and problems to automate business processes, upgrade or modify existing systems, and review system-wide capabilities, workflow and scheduling limitations while proactively monitoring and providing reports for various security vulnerabilities. The candidate will work with the Security Office to determine security best practices and requirements to help guide their applied knowledge of endpoint configuration management to help them design and architect a managed solution for various types of hardware the campus oversees. Candidate must be customer service focused as they will be required to interact with customers and disseminate information using project management tools, metrics and other reporting means.
This position is classified as on-site. The maximum annual budgeted salary for this position is $131,100.
As a condition of employment, you will be required to comply with the University of California SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) Vaccination Program Policy. All Covered Individuals under the policy must provide proof of "Up to Date" Vaccination or, if applicable, submit a request for Exception (based on Medical Exemption, Disability, and/or Religious Objection) or Deferral (based on pregnancy) no later than the applicable deadline. For new University of California employees, the applicable deadline is eight weeks after their first date of employment.

Minimum Requirements
Ability to write technical documentation in a clear and concise manner.
Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team. Demonstrates problem-solving skills. Able to learn effectively and meet deadlines.
Understanding of system performance monitoring and actions that can be taken to improve or correct performance.
Advanced knowledge of computer security best practices and policies including demonstrated experience securing server-based software.
Demonstrated experience writing and editing complex scripts used to perform system maintenance and administration.
Basic knowledge of how to apply technologies and systems to meet business needs.
Knowledge of the design, development and application of technology and systems to meet business needs.
Ability to elicit and communicate technical and non-technical information in a clear and concise manner.
Demonstrated skills associated with adapting equipment and technology to serve user needs. Demonstrated comprehensive understanding of how system management actions affect other systems, system users and dependent/related functions.
General knowledge of other areas of IT. Thorough understanding of and experience with systems-related issues and actions that can be taken to improve or correct performance.
