Business Systems Analyst

Position Information

Under general supervision of the Payroll Coordination and Analysis Manager, the Business System Analyst will support payroll and general ledger related campus financial tools and systems. From systems that provide data as input to the UC payroll system, to other systems that provide integration with campus financial system, and everything in between. The business systems analyst will be responsible for conducting systems analysis, fit gap analysis, data analysis, process design and/or process redesign, creation of business and functional requirement documents, develop training materials and deliver training, and manage projects as needed. Support payroll and GL initiatives of assigned functional responsibilities. Participate in system-wide payroll/GL project initiatives as assigned. The effort assigned to the job responsibilities may shift in response to changing goals and objectives and the demands of the project or needs in other projects. **The budget hiring range is approximately up to $107,600 annually**. Finalist will be required to provide work samples.

Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. Required
Advanced degree in related field. Preferred

Experience

Experience Requirement
4 - 7 years of related experience. Required
Experience with shared service center practices and technologies. Preferred
Business Analyst, HCM/HRIS implementation experience in a higher education environment. Preferred

Minimum Requirements

Strong skills and knowledge of methodologies associated with analysis of processes and problems, information flow and architecture.
Thorough knowledge of business processes and procedures.
In-depth understanding and skill in process and systems requirement documentation standards, such as Use Case modeling, User Story creations and narrative description.
Broad knowledge relating to software design.
Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team. Able to learn effectively and meet deadlines. Demonstrates problem solving skills.
Demonstrated testing and test planning skills.
Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization. Interpersonal and communications skills to work with both technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization.
Thorough knowledge of related areas of IT.
Thorough knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Visio, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Project. Knowledge and proficiency in SharePoint.
Demonstrated ability to work with others from diverse backgrounds.
Thorough knowledge of business and process analysis functions.

Preferred Qualifications

Working knowledge of system implementation.

Experience working in higher education environment
