Position Information

The Academic Student Advisor 2 provides department and college level advising service for a subset of the college's undergraduate majors. Leads or supports the coordination of student success activity or a process supporting the advising function; the assigned activity, which is moderate in scope and complexity, targets a specified range of students. Uses independent judgment to identify and resolve manageable issues, and seeks guidance on issues with larger implications. Identifies and reports issues with larger implications to Director, Assistant Director, or lead Advisor in a timely manner.

The hiring budget range for this position is up to $62,600.00

As a condition of employment, you will be required to comply with the University of California SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) Vaccination Program Policy. Abilities in problem identification, reasoning, ability to develop original idea to solve problems.
Basic knowledge of advising and counseling techniques.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including active listening.
Knowledge of department/school/college policies, procedures, and requirements.
Skills in judgment, decision-making, and problem solving.
Ability to multi-task.
Knowledge of departmental/school/college courses and majors.

Preferred Qualifications

Ability to prioritize responsibilities based on value to students, the college and its departments, and communicate needs or seek clarity in a timely manner.

Role flexibility and ability to adjust to demands of a dynamic work environment.

Ability to work collaboratively and contribute to a positive work environment.
