UCR College Corps Director

Position Information

The UCR College Corps grant is part of the #CaliforniansForAll newly announced Governor's initiative which provides up to 150 college students at UCR with opportunities to support and learn from organizations working in three priority areas: K-12 Education, Climate Action and Food Insecurity. In coordination with the Executive Director of Educational and Community Outreach Programs, the College Corps Director is responsible for planning, organizing, and administering the UCR College Corps Program. Responsibilities include the implementation of the program, hiring, training, and supervision of staff, and managing the hiring, training, placement and daily management of approximately 150 program fellows each year. Under the guidance of the Executive Director, the UCR College Corps Director builds relationships and works with partner sites in the community that may include non-profit and government agencies, community groups and local businesses to implement various aspects and activities of the College Corps Program. The Director is responsible for ensuring compliance with relevant polices and regulations and submitting required reports and documentation. This position is grant funded. It is expected that the grant will run through July 2024 with a possibility of extension based on continued availability of funding.

Minimum Requirements

Knowledge of financial management principles including developing and implementing a program's budget.
Extensive knowledge and experience working with programs serving a diverse student population.
Ability to maintain effective professional relationships with clients and instructors. Strong knowledge of community education, technical education, and/or training and development programs.
Ability to work occasional weekends, evenings and early mornings, and to travel occasionally.
Effective leadership skills, including directing and developing staff members.
Ability to work under pressure in a variety of settings and to maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
Strong interpersonal skills, including presentation, communication, negotiation, leadership, problem-solving, and conflict resolution.
Effective skills to conduct needs assessment and program delivery.
Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Advanced organizational and project management skills with ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
