Position Information

The UCR College Corps (Program) is part of the #CaliforniansForAll Governor's initiative which provides up to 150 college students at UCR with opportunities to support and learn from organizations working in three priority areas: K-12 Education, Climate Action and Food Insecurity. At UCR, College Corps will be a partnership with California Volunteers; University of California, Riverside (UCR); the City of Riverside; and the Riverside Unified School District and funded via contributions from each partner.

The UCR College Corps (Program) is a partnership with California Volunteers; University of California, Riverside (UCR); the City of Riverside; and the Riverside Unified School District and funded via contributions from each partner. In coordination with the Program Director (Director), the Assistant Director (AD) is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing the Program. Responsibilities include the annual recruitment, hiring, training, placement and daily management of approximately 50 full-time college students serving as College Corps Fellows (Fellows). Under the guidance of the Director, the AD builds relationships and works with on- and off-campus partners, including local government agencies, elementary schools, non-profit organizations, and community groups to implement various aspects and activities of the Program. The AD will be responsible for the collection of data and information, and for tracking of program services provided to participants for the annual performance report, intermittent reports, self-monitoring audits, and program evaluations. The AD will also provide assistance to the Director in making decisions regarding allocations of funds for implementation of grant objectives. This position is a grant funded, starting in March 2022 and expected to run through July 2024 with a possibility of extension based on continued availability of funding and program performance. The budgeted hiring maximum is $53,500.00.

Minimum Requirements

Thorough analytical skills to conduct analysis and develop recommendations, demonstrating organization and problem-solving skills.
Thorough knowledge of functional area and understanding of how work may impact other areas.
Thorough and effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and presentation skills.
Knowledge of managing a portfolio of business and management courses at the university level.
Skill in using business software systems in the completion of work assignments; i.e. Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint.
Thorough knowledge of current community educational programs and trends.
Thorough skills to conduct needs assessment and development of new presentations/courses to meet organizational needs.
Thorough knowledge of organization policies and procedures.
Thorough knowledge of and skill in delivering programs.
