Position Information

Serves as the information technology expert for Recreation providing technical support, training, and strategic planning for the design and implementation of technology. Responsibilities include overall planning / management of all departmental IT functions. Infrastructure includes Windows and Mac workstations, Windows servers, and specialized video and audio systems. Application technologies include client/server and web-based technologies. Responsible for direct system support for program unit heads, administration, staff and student employees in the department as well as primary support for all Recreation program units, facilities and operations. Position exhibits technical mastery of database management, business analytics, data analysis, operating systems, technology systems and hardware. Position requires exceptional skill in leadership, interpersonal communication, project design / implementation, task management, critical thinking, problem solving, risk assessment, and innovation while staying current with new technology. Incumbent will also provide compliance assurance, user support, application management, business analysis, vendor management and IT project management to Recreation. Support includes, but is not limited to, Payment Card Industry (PCI), PC hardware repairs, PC operating systems installations and configurations, desktop / enterprise / building & facility management applications, entertainment / communications digital content systems, network connectivity, and various special projects. Budgeted hiring range is $71,800 - $121,000.

Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. Required

Experience

Experience Requirement
Minimum of 5 years of related experience. Required
Minimum of 3 years experience working with business analytics, business process mapping, data modeling and data analysis with strong analytical abilities and data analysis skills. Required
Minimum of 3 years experience working with relational databases and extensive knowledge of RD management principles Required
Minimum of 3 years experience creating complex dashboards and other operational reports to support program and operations units Preferred
Minimum of 3 years experience using IT architectural principles and frameworks as they apply to organizational technical and business needs. Required
4 - 7 years of related experience. Required
Minimum of 3 years experience working with Windows, Mac, Linux, and Unix operating systems. Required

Minimum Requirements

Demonstrated testing and test planning skills.
Demonstrated comprehensive understanding of how system management actions affect other systems, system users and dependent/related functions.

Interpersonal skills sufficient to work with both technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization. Ability to elicit and communicate technical and non-technical information in a clear and concise manner.
Thorough knowledge of business and process analysis functions. Knowledge of the design, development and application of technology and systems to meet business needs.
Advanced skills associated with programming design, modification and implementation. Basic knowledge of secure software development. Demonstrated ability to create software specifications.
Demonstrated experience with database administration. Working knowledge of database management systems and standards. Knowledge relating to database system design. Advanced database querying and modeling skills working with moderately complex databases.
Familiarity with logical data design and data mapping or data conversion.
Ability to write technical documentation in a clear and concise manner.
Advanced knowledge of computer security tools, best practices and policies including demonstrated experience securing server-based software. Demonstrated skill at administering moderately complex security controls and configurations to computer hardware, software and networks.
Familiarity with data quality and governance issues and requirements.
Broad knowledge of various areas of IT.
Demonstrated ability to install software and troubleshoot and repair moderately complex problems with computing devices, peripherals and software. Understanding of and experience troubleshooting client, server and peripherals-related issues and actions that can be taken to improve or correct performance. Experience in incident response and digital forensics, including data collection, examination and analysis.

Preferred Qualifications

Ability to maintain and manage relationships with software/system vendors in a professional and secure manner.

Familiarity with IT networking concepts related to system connectivity and security.
